Palace Theatre Manchester The Palace Theatre Manchester originally opened as the Palace Theatre of Varieties on Whit Monday 1891 and cost its owners the then colossal sum of £40,500. The Palace Theatre Manchester was renovation in 1913 and the Palace Theatre Manchester re-opened with the star act Harry Houdini. Since then Manchester's Palace Theatre has always been in tune with the tastes of the day playing host to the latest pop stars, musicals and serious dramas. The Palace Theatre Manchester is currently owned by the leading events promoter Live Nation, who also own the Palace's sister theatre the Manchester Opera House.
